About Papers Open
About Papers Open: we are an independent publisher of free academic writing guides, outlines and templates for students.
Our mission
Many students know what they want to say but not how to structure it. Papers Open exists to make the structure of academic writing clear. We explain how to plan a research paper, build an outline, write a thesis statement and format citations, and we show worked examples so you can see what each section is doing.
What we publish
- Research paper help: step-by-step guides from first question to final check.
- Outline templates: copy-ready structures for papers, essays and lab reports.
- Research paper examples: annotated excerpts and samples.
- Thesis statements: formulas, examples and a free generator.
- Citation formatting: APA, MLA and Chicago basics.
What we do not do
We do not sell papers or write papers for submission, and we do not offer ghostwriting. Our templates and examples help you learn so that the work you submit is your own. Read our academic integrity policy.
Independent and not affiliated
Papers Open is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any school, college, university, examination body or citation-style organisation. Style names such as APA, MLA and Chicago belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe the formats our guides explain. We provide general information only; see our disclaimer.
How we keep guides reliable
Our editorial team writes and reviews each guide against current style manuals and university writing-centre guidance, and corrects mistakes that readers report. The full process is in our editorial policy.
